01Who is Mahāvidyā Vārāhī?

Mahāvidyā Vārāhī is the vast, cosmic Vārāhī of the Mahākāla Saṃhitā — dark as a dense cloud, supporting the earth and moving in the sky.

This canvas art print by Swaroop is part of the Forms of Vārāhī series.

02The dhyāna

“The one who is dark as a dense cloud, with a massive body, With a mouth as wide as a hand, and a gaping nostril, With an eye on the left side of her face, bearing two eyes, Adorned with fangs resembling the crescent moon of the eighth day, With a tongue moving in anger, and a wide-open mouth, Radiating light that fills the world, resembling the end of an age, With a terrifying laugh, red eyes, and red garments, With a body covered in hair like swords, The one who supports the earth, moving in the sky, Frightening the celestial beings with her mane, Adorned with all ornaments, making a roaring sound, Holding a lotus, a bow, a goad, and a noose in her left hand, And a discus, an arrow, a mace, and a conch in her right hand, Always served by the earth, dark as a blade of dūrva grass, One should meditate on Vārāhī, who grants all desires.”
